What should you know for the June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027 plan year?
Medical/Rx Plans:
- Avalon is really pleased to share there are NO changes to the contribution rates for your medical plans!
- There are some benefit enhancements being made to the PPO medical plan:
o There will no longer be member coinsurance after deductible.
o The out-of-pocket maximum has been reduced, lowering your overall exposure for medical/Rx expenses for next plan year.
- There are no benefit changes to the High Deductible medical plan option.
- Coverage for colonoscopies on both medical plans has been improved. Colonoscopies are covered once every 3 years, regardless of whether it is considered preventive or if there is a diagnosis.
- Midi, the leading virtual care clinic specializing in women’s midlife health, specifically focusing on perimenopause and menopause, has been added as an exception list provider under Avalon’s medical plans. This means that even though they are considered out-of-network, you can be reimbursed for claims through Midi at the in-network level of benefits. You will have to pay out-of-pocket, then submit a claim through Luminare for reimbursement.
Dental Plans:
- The Flagship DMO plan is no longer being offered by Delta Dental. There is a new Fixed Copay PPO plan being added that offers an unlimited benefit for the year, but now with an improved provider network. The cost for this plan is higher, but worth considering as a replacement option for the Flagship plan.
- The PPO dental plan and the PPO High dental plan will remain the same for both benefits and contribution rates.
Long-Term Disability:
- The long term disability benefits will remain with The Hartford, but the benefit level will be changing.
