
Short-Term Disability through The Hartford is offered to eligible Avalon Flooring employees. Below are the eligibility guidelines and cost information.

Employees working in NJ: STD is provided to PT employees as long as they meet the eligibility guidelines set forth by NJ DOL. Employees working in NJ share in the cost for the STD benefit, as required by the State for 2025.

Non-NJ employees: For Employees not working in NJ, Short-Term Disability (STD) is offered to PT employees as long as they work at least 30 hours per week. You have the option to enroll in or waive STD coverage. If you waive STD coverage and request to enroll at a later date, you will be required to go through medical underwriting and approval for coverage outside of your original eligibility date. The cost of coverage is shared between Avalon Flooring and their employees.

Amount of your income you receive if you are unable to work due to injury or illness.
85% of your weekly pay, up to maximum of $1,119 per week

Elimination Period
Waiting period for benefits to begin.
Benefits begin after a 7-day elimination/waiting period.

How long benefits are paid.
Benefits may be paid for up to 26 weeks.

Who pays for coverage?
If you are a resident of PA or DE, employees pay a portion of their STD coverage via payroll tax deductions.
